The I Choose community

One little choice can create another.

I Choose becomes something different in every person's hands. This is a place to share what you chose, what you tried, what you discovered and what changed for you. Your experience might give somebody else an idea they had never considered.

Watch first

Welcome to the I Choose community

What I Choose is, why this community exists, and why everybody uses it differently. There is no right or wrong way. One person chooses when they wake up, another when they are struggling, another at the kitchen table with their children.

Watch. Read. Try. Share.

Watch community stories

Real people. Different choices.

Short, natural videos of thirty seconds to three minutes, not polished productions. Approved videos appear here with a first name, a general location and a short title. No surnames, no email addresses, nothing private.

How are you using I Choose?

There isn't one way to I Choose.

Search for what you are looking for, or wander through the themes. Under each story you can take the idea and make it your own.

Nothing here yet for that. Try another word, or share your own experience below.

A choice from the community

Today, someone in our community chose...

I choose to stop carrying yesterday into today.

Helen

What do you choose today?

From choice to practice

Don't just choose it. Make space for it.

Making the choice is the beginning. Life gets busy, stress happens and old routines return. When we are overwhelmed we fall back into what is familiar, even when we genuinely want something different. So make your choice visible and practical.

When will you make space for it?

A choice becomes easier to protect when we deliberately make space for it.

What worked for other people

How people are making I Choose part of real life.

Small practical things that helped one person follow through. Not rules, just what somebody found useful.

Missed a day? A week? A month?

You can choose again.

There are no streaks here, no scores and no guilt. People have stressful weeks, caring responsibilities, bereavements, illness, or they simply lose the routine. Yesterday's choice does not remove today's ability to choose. Some of the most useful stories in this community come from people who started, stopped, came back and made their practice smaller.

Choose again.

When everything feels too much

One choice. One minute. One next step.

Forget the whole week for a moment. What is one thing you choose for the next hour?

This is a self reflection tool, not mental health care. If you are struggling badly or in crisis, please contact your GP, call 111, or in an emergency call 999. Samaritans are on 116 123, free, day or night.

This stays with you. Nothing is sent or saved online.

New to I Choose?

Don't know where to begin?

You don't need a plan. Start with one sentence.

I choose to listen.I choose to try.I choose to slow down.I choose to ask for help.I choose to spend time outside.I choose to start again.I choose to be kinder to myself.

My I Choose experiment

Choose something small and see what you notice.

For seven days, I choose to spend ten minutes outside before checking social media. For fourteen days, I choose to protect one evening a week. Pick a length, say why you chose it, and at the end decide whether to continue it, change it or leave it.

Your experiment stays on your own device. At the end, ask yourself what you noticed, what surprised you, and whether you will continue, change it or leave it. If you would like to, come back and tell the community what you learned. No outcome is promised, and none is expected.

What the community is teaching us

This month the community has been talking about...

Slowing down
Setting boundaries
Starting mornings differently
Talking with children
Forgiving yourself
Being outside more
Trying something again

Different people. Different lives. Different choices.

These are recurring ideas drawn from what people have actually sent us. They are community experiences, not research evidence, and we keep the two clearly apart.

Your story could help somebody else.

You don't need to have transformed your entire life. Perhaps you tried one small thing. Perhaps something surprised you. Perhaps I Choose helped you see an old situation differently. Tell us about it.

Privacy and guidelines

Only your first name and, if you give one, a general location are ever shown. Your email is kept privately for moderation and is never published. Nothing is published automatically, everything is read by a person first. Please do not include other people's private details, and do not share anything containing a child without their parent or guardian's permission. No bullying, hate, harassment, spam, advertising, medical diagnoses or promises of cures, and nothing encouraging harm.

Community stories describe individual experiences. They are not medical advice and do not mean the same outcome will occur for somebody else. I Choose does not replace medical diagnosis, treatment or professional healthcare.

Where would you put your story?

Add a photo, video, audio, journal page or artwork, optional

Images, video or audio up to 25MB. Nothing is published without being reviewed first.

Living with serious illness

Some people write to us while they are having treatment.

People living with cancer and other serious illness sometimes share what personally helped them feel more in control of their days alongside their medical care. Writing down what was still theirs to decide. Walking when they felt able. Reconnecting with people.

These are individual experiences. I Choose does not cure, treat or prevent cancer or any other disease, and nothing here is medical advice. Please keep following the advice of your own qualified healthcare professionals.

Community journey

What happened next?

With permission, we invite people back after thirty days, three months and six months, and publish the update alongside the original story so it becomes a journey rather than a frozen testimonial. We publish the honest ones too. "It worked brilliantly and then I stopped" is as useful as anything else here.

Evidence and learning

We keep experience and evidence apart.

  • Community experiences
  • Internal surveys
  • Independent research
  • Case studies
  • How we measure impact
  • Limitations and what we still don't know

Where we see an association we say so, and we do not describe it as cause. This hub grows as genuine evidence exists, and it is never mixed in with the stories.

This community is about

Choice

Your experience belongs to you.

Curiosity

Different things work for different people.

Kindness

We encourage rather than instruct.

Respect

We can disagree and still be respectful.

Experience

We share our own experience rather than telling somebody else how to live theirs.

Encouragement

Someone else's experience may give you an idea, it does not have to become your answer.

Every published story carries a quiet "report a concern" link. Anything reported can be unpublished immediately while we look at it.

Book holders

There is a deeper room for people with the book.

The full practice, the seven movements, the three moments of the day and the mirror version live with book holders. Everything above is open to everybody.

Choosing for somebody else

Get the book for a friend, a relative or somebody you work with.

Plenty of people in this community did not buy the book for themselves. Somebody thought of them, handed it over, and left them to it. You do not need to explain it or make it a big moment. Give it, and let them find their own way in.

A friend

Someone going through a hard stretch who does not want advice, just something quiet to sit with.

A relative

A parent, a sibling, an adult child. Small enough to post, gentle enough not to feel like a lecture.

A work colleague

For pressure, change or burnout. Teams have used one choice a week together in the morning.

Someone starting over

A new job, a new home, recovery, retirement, or the year after a loss.

I choose this for you.

Add a handwritten card and linen wrap at checkout, or simply post it plain. If you have given the book to somebody, we would love to hear what happened next.

Your choice may become someone else's inspiration.

You never know which part of your experience might help somebody see their own life differently.

Or simply stay awhile, read, watch and discover how other people are choosing.
